Attending An Interview
Interview Advice
There are some
things you must do during an interview, and some to avoid, that
will assist both you and your interviewer. They
are listed here:
Ensure that you
Do:
- Arrive for
your interview on time, but better still, ten minutes
early.
- Use the
interviewer's name.
- Smile
confidently and use a firm
handshake.
- Remain
alert and interested in the proceedings throughout your
interview.
- Keep eye
contact with the interviewer
- Be positive
in all you say and do..
- Always speak
clearly, firmly, and
authoritatively.
- Accept any
refreshment you are offered.
- Sell your
strengths.
And that you
Don't:
- Act
aggressively or egotistical in any
way.
- Talk too
much about money.
- Appear
disinterested about the company or the
job.
- Appear
defensive when questioned about
anything.
- Criticise
former colleagues or employers.
- Give only
yes or no answers.
- Make excuses for any bad points in
your work history.
- Excuse yourself during the
interview, even to use the bathroom.
- Request coffee or refreshments or
ask to smoke.
